- Printed goods will be accurately printed within our standards. They
will look just like the art that you sent in. Please note that accuracy
will include any defects in art that you have approved. We are not
responsible for defects stemming from poor quality art.
The following standards and tolerances apply in particular:
- Placement: Placement accuracy will be +/- one half Inch
(U.S.) vertical or side to side. If placement is not indicated on the proofs
you agree to our standard placement below.
- FRONT and BACK: Unless otherwise indicated on the proofs
placement on the front will be 3" from the top of the design to the
seam of the collar and body of the shirt and on the back it will be 4" from
the top of the design to the seam of the collar and body of the shirt. On
Ladies shirts the print may be moved up in order to remain in a respectable
location. Standard placement for women's shirts is 2" from collar.
-Pocket Area: Pocket area prints will be located such that
the left most portion of the design (as worn) is 4.75" from the center
of the shirt.
-Pocket prints (on pocket): Pocket prints are located 1/2" from
the seam at the top of the pocket and are restricted to a 3" by 3" area.
These prints will be centered on the pocket print itself.
-Sleeve Area: Centered on the outside area of the sleeve.
1/2" from seam of sleeve on short sleeve. For long sleeve either printed
down the sleeve or printed in the same position as a short sleeve shirt where
the print appears on the shoulder.
- Pinholes, Lint, and Extraneous Ink: Due to the nature
of apparel it is inevitable that lint may occassionally block the print area
on some shirts. In adition small pinholes may develop from time to time during
the printing process. These will not be considered defects unless they exceed
the description we have listed here. The sum of these defects will not measure
more than 1/4" square on any given shirt.
- Skew: Skew is the side to side rotation of the design.
Some people describe this is as a design being "crooked" on a shirt.
Because shirts are placed by hand onto the equipment used for printing it
is inevitable that some skew will occassionally occur. Our tolerance for
skew is 1/4" from side to center or 1/2" measured left to right.
Skew of less then this will not be considered defective.
- Registration : We define registration as the alignment
of colors in reference to one another. This specifically applies to multi-color
prints. Registration will be accurate within 1/8". Some variance within
a printing run is normal due to the substrate (material being printed). We
will maintain commercially acceptable registration throughout your print
run. We specifically will reference common objects as an example of commercially
acceptable registration. Examples of commerically acceptable registration
can be found in commonly available items such as cups from McDonald's, Wendy's,
and other restaurants, or cans and bottles of Coke or Pepsi.
